Combats the Summer Learning Slide

Literacy Playground is a summer literacy enrichment program for elementary students in grades K–5, offered at partner sites where children are already participating in summer programming.

Led by certified teachers and trained interns, students rotate through hands-on literacy games, interactive learning stations, and small-group instruction tailored to their developmental needs. Each activity is intentionally designed to build foundational skills such as phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing—while still feeling fun and energetic.

The summer wraps up with an end-of-program celebration that honors students’ growth and cheers on our emerging readers.
