Tutors Recognized by United Way

In the past couple of months, the efforts of three of our tutors have been recognized by the Heart of
Arkansas United Way. Amanda Abramovitz, Sharon Ingram, and Mary Dee Taylor were all recognized
as United Way Volunteer of the Week for going above and beyond their service to AR Kids Read.

Amanda Abramovitz was recognized for tutoring at Crystal Hill for over three years and for running the
tutor recruitment campaign at Garver. Along with recruiting the tutors, Abramovitz coordinated the
training for all Garver tutors.

Sharon Ingram was recognized for serving as an AR Kids Read tutor for over three years. Ingram was
highlighted for her role in setting up the Seventh Street Restaurant Day which taught students proper
etiquette and how to order from a menu. Ingram was also recognized for her tutor recruitment efforts
at U.S. Bank, and for serving on the AR Kids Read Tutor Advisory Board.

Mary Dee Taylor was recognized for her commitment to tutoring at Williams Traditional Magnet.
Taylor tutors twice a week at Williams, and has been a tutor there for over three years. Taylor serves
on the AR Kids Read Tutor Advisory Board, and was highlighted for her efforts in rallying her book club
to donate to the AR Kids Read ArkansasGives campaign.

We want to thank each of these tutors for their commitment to AR Kids Read. We also want to thank
all those who are dedicated to AR Kids Read and serving struggling readers. Your work does not go
unrecognized because you are making a difference in the lives of children in our community.
