Tutors Provide Workshop Topic

Providing tutor support is important to us at AR Kids Read! We want to provide you with all of the
necessary training, resources, and feedback to help you make the most of each tutoring session.
To better help us address your needs, we have a Tutor Advisory Board in place composed of 20 current
tutors from various schools across all three school districts. The Tutor Advisory Board and AR Kids Read
staff recently met on January 13th and shared encouraging stories of their positive experiences as well
as observed areas where AR Kids Read can better support tutors.

We listened to them as well as other tutors who have responded to various surveys and personal phone
calls and emails. Utilizing this great input, we are holding a workshop on Tuesday, February 11th at the
Junior League of Little Rock located at 401 Scott Street in Little Rock, also home to AR Kids Read.
The workshop will be presented by Dr. Linda Dorn and the UALR Center for Literacy staff.

Come join us as we engage in content-specific videos of student reading behaviors, table-top collaboration
and problem solving regarding tutoring session and a wonderful opportunity to network with other tutors.
We will begin the workshop with a wonderful lunch sponsored by Legacy Termite & Pest Control.
Click here to register (deadline for registration is February 3rd).

*Please submit any questions or specific concerns regarding your tutoring sessions that you would like
addressed during the workshop with Dr. Dorn or by our Reading Specialist, Amy Moss. Send emails to

amoss@arkidsread.org. Thank you for your continued commitment to AR Kids Read as we help make
a difference in the lives of struggling readers in our community!
